Accepted takes a look at the real life worries and fears of high school seniors, the dreaded rejection from your favorite school.  It goes a bit further by focusing on those who are not accepted anywhere.  Justin Long(kid from Dodgeball) stars as Bartelby "B" Gaines, an average student who is rejected by every school he applies to, even his back up plan.  He messes around on his computer and creates a fake acceptance letter to a fake school.  He starts to take the plan too far when he leases an old mental hospital and dresses it up to look like the college so that when his parents drop him off there is an actual place.  Due to an error in their websites design more than just Bartelby's friends are accepted to his "school" and now he's has to race to solve this problem.  While scoping out the local big school he realizes that the college experience isn't all it's cracked up to be.

I liked the message of the movie, even if it comes from situations that aren't exaclty plausible.  The movie tries to say that kids today are going to college, taking courses they don't want or go to the school they thought was right for them because they've been told that's how it's suppose to be.  But you should pursue the goals you want and follow your dreams rather than sit in some boring stats class listening to a professor drone on and on about nothing.

The film has its moments, it's not a laugh riot or anything but it's an enjoyable teen/college comedy flick.  I'm a sucker for these kinds of movies as it is so I enjoyed it alot.  It's not perfect and the main plot as stated earlier isn't exactly plausible but how many movies are.

A good time at the movies and I'd say it's worth the price of admission and it's definitely worth a rental when the time comes.

How close is it to Camp Nowhere? It looks to be basically the same film.

A lot of the scenes in the film are very close. Kids running their own college and creating the courses they want to take compared to kids creating their own camp and doing the activities they want. Some other similarities in there include having the old "wise" man that helps them played by Lewis Black who poses as the Dean and as a professor and of course Christopher Lloyd in Camp Nowhere. And in Camp Nowhere they spend their camp fees on all the cool toys and stuff and in Accepted they spend all the tuition cash on adding all kinds of cool things to the school including a vert ramp.

Funny you should ask that because there is a post over on the Accepted IMDB board that asks the same thing. They are very similar and both are films I have enjoyed.
